Building relationships every day. Spotlight: Kendra Lennes, LPN When Kendra Lennes joined Alexandria Clinic in 1999, she expected to build a career. What she didn't expect was how deeply she would come to love the work, the people, and the community she would serve for more than 26 years. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, Kendra has become a familiar and reassuring presence- someone who remembers your story, your family, and often even the generation before you. "I was fortunate to work along- side Dr. Deb Dittberner for 16 years," Kendra reflects. "She was a great teacher and a great person. And I can honestly say all our providers are wonderful. They're welcoming and they treat us nurses truly as teammates." Nursing runs deep in Kendra's family. Her grandmother, mother, and brother all found their calling in healthcare, so stepping into the profession felt like a natural continuation of that legacy. After studying at Minnesota State Moorhead and Alexandria Technical & Commu- nity College, she began the career she still calls a perfect fit. "I love being an LPN. The relationship built between a patient and nurse is based on quality care, compassion, and trust in which I try to offer each time a patient reaches out." After more than two decades, Kendra now cares for the children of the children she once treated-something she describes as one of the great joys of a long career in the same community. She was also drawn to Alexan- dria Clinic because of the family friendly hours. "It's hard to raise kids with rotating shifts. I wanted to be there for my children's games, and the staff here have always been incredibly support- ive of that." Looking back, Kendra sees not just the work she's done, but the relationships that have shaped her. She's raised her family while becoming part of the Alomere family-providers, nurses, staff, and patients who have been woven into her daily life for decades. "I wish you could feel what I feel," she says. "When you see your patients year after year, and you work alongside the same team, they become so close to you. You get to witness the circle of life. It's wonderful." Are you interested in nursing opportunities at Alexandria Clinic? Visit alomerehealth.com and click "Careers" in the menu.
