My name is Laura Knudsen, and I'm running to fill Position Four on the District 206 Board of Education because of my love of education, compassion for students, understanding that high-quality schools support our community and the need to preserve parents' rights.
Over the past year, I have spoken with parents and students, hearing many heartbreaking stories. Parents are raising concerns that are not being addressed by our current district leadership. My family has experienced these issues firsthand. I want to work to make sure other students and families never go through the same experiences.
We can accomplish this by focusing on high-quality education. As a district, we need to admit the weaknesses and address these challenges head-on. By partnering with parents and our community, we can become a district that leads the State in education.
