About
The Evansville Arts Coalition was founded to further arts activities in Evansville and surrounding communities. It was incorporated in 2004 when a local family donated the second oldest building in Evansville to serve as exhibit space, a music venue and a place for artists-in-residence to sell their work. Our building’s history includes two stints as a drug store and at least two cafes.
We are a membership organization with individual, family, and corporate members. Our annual fall membership drive is the basis for our operating funds. For special projects we rely on grants from local foundations and the Lake Region Arts Council through legislative appropriations. We are an all volunteer organization and have 501 (c) 3 status. No members receive compensation for their efforts on behalf of the organization.
