About
Elim Lutheran Church is a religious organization located in Osakis, MN. We believe that the Bible is God's Word and is the only source and guide for faith, doctrine, and life.
The New Testament word for gospel simply means "good news." What is this good news? The Apostle Paul puts it this way: "Christ died for our sins...he was buried...he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Cor 15:3-4). The Gospel is such good news because it declares that we are unconditionally loved despite how unlovable we are, and this love springs from God's good, fatherly heart rather than our own performance. Jesus gives us rest for our souls (Matt 11:29) and, in doing so, makes a way for us to have a personal relationship with Him.
In the Old Testament, Elim was a desert oasis with twelves springs of water which provided shelter for the Israelites during their wilderness journeys. Like our namesake, our passion is to be an oasis of life-giving water, where wandering souls can find eternal refreshment.
