It all began with a few teachers and a dream. In 1939, eight Minneapolis teachers decided to take control of their own financial security and formed the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers Credit Union. Rumor has it that in those early days, the credit union’s money and records were kept in a tackle box in the founders’ garage.
