Spotlight: Savanna Steidl, RN, BSN, CWOCN Growing up in Alexandria, Savanna knew at a young age she wanted to be a nurse. Her family says she's always had a caring attitude. To reach her nursing goal, she attended Alex Tech's LPN program immediately after high school, which made her a nurse at 19 years of age. She excelled at her job. Early into her career, she was recognized as Minnesota's Home Care & Hospice Nurse of the Year. Not long after, she returned to school and received her RN certification at age 21. She didn't stop there, she continued her education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. With her eyes on her dream job as a wound care nurse, Savanna successfully achieved accreditation in Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC). "I have a passion for helping people in this role. When you heal a patient's wound, you realize just how much it's improved their quality of life. They can go swimming in a lake now, or they can go out in public confidently-making them feel like a normal human being makes me feel really good," smiles Savanna.
