ALEXANDRIA AREA Community Foundation Engaging People. Connecting Resources. Building Community. PHILANTHROPY AT WORK ALEXANDRIA RESPONSE FUND In February our community was struck with tragedy when a fire destroyed downtown businesses and apartments of local residents. The Alexandria Response Fund (ARF) was established to collect financial support from our community to help those in need. Through generous community support, we were able to grant $38,500 to help. Little did we know, the ARF would be used again so quickly when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Local organizations sprung into action to help those without childcare, food or employment. We have been able to grant over $101,000 to help the following non-profits as they continue their important work.
